Literacy

At St. Peter Chanel our Literacy program is based on giving the students the opportunity to speak, listen, read, view and write effectively with confidence, purpose and enjoyment.

This program aims to:

• explicitly develop the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
• encourage students to take greater control and responsibility for their own learning
• support students who are experiencing difficulty
• encourage parent participation
• improve the literacy standards of all children

We provide intervention and acceleration programs across all Year levels which cater for students’ level of achievement.

We offer workshops to provide opportunities for family members to assist during literacy time.
