Religious Education

At St. Peter Chanel, we are dedicated to nurturing students in a strong Catholic identity rooted in the teachings of Christ and Sacred Scripture. We prioritise the development of a personal relationship with God, encouraging each child to grow in faith, love, and prayer. Scripture is brought to life in our classrooms through meaningful storytelling experiences that guide students in developing a personal understanding and connection to  Christ’s teachings.  Through prayer, worship, and Catholic values, we create an environment where children not only excel academically but also cultivate a strong, enduring connection to their faith and God’s love.

Sacramental Program 

Our Sacramental program is designed to guide students through the important milestones of their faith journey, with the school working in partnership with families to ensure meaningful preparation for each sacrament.

In Year 3, students prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where they learn the importance of being in right relationships with God, others and themselves. 

In Year 4, students receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist and learn about their place at the table with Jesus.  Through scripture and rich learning experiences they explore the symbols, rituals and presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of Eucharist. 

In Year 6, students are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation, where they affirm their baptismal promises and are strengthened by the Holy Spirit. The program helps students understand the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and how they can live out their faith through mission and service. 

Throughout each stage, we provide a nurturing environment that invites families to be active participants in their child’s faith formation, reinforcing the connection between home, school, and church.
